To make Dalmore King Alexander III Master Distiller Richard Paterson selected a range of differently aged malts matured in a mixture of French wine casks Madeira drums Sherry butts Marsala barrels port pipes and bourbon barrels from Kentucky. A remarkable feat of blending. 40% ABV Tasting Notes: Nose: chocolate and nuts both flesh and shells toffee touches of spiced raisin and vanilla. Palate: measured sugary sweetness to start with orange and vanilla backed up by sweet raisins raspberry and winey touches. Finish: Spicy oak polished wood and licorice root.
