Baileyana Firepeak Chardonnay

100% sustainably grown chardonnay (clones 4 76 and 17) from the firepeak blocks (planted mid-1990s) of the paragon vineyard in edna valley concentrated at the base of extinct volcano on clay loam rocky marine sediment and volcanic remnants. Barrel fermented in 19% new french oak and 47% 1-4 year old oak witht he rest in tank. No malo-lactic fermentation. Aged 7 months on the lees. Green straw in color with well formed legs; dry medium-bodied with balanced acidity; medium phenolics. Supple fresh lively. Fresh citrus and tree fruit with a hint of tropical. Bearscore: 90+.
